Can I just point out…there’s a big difference between alcoholism and procrastination…
I’m not downplaying alcoholism, it’s a beyond-serious issue that requires treatment, counseling and compassion; which is why I assume I constantly receive looks of concern every time I do this…
You see, most people are in and out…it’s a quick drop of glass, plastics, aluminum or even yard waste. Me? With each visit, I’m at the recycling center for at least 45-minutes – toting an entire carton of lawn-bags full of Hamm’s and Natural Light cans to the aluminum bin.
There have been people who’ve dropped off their yard waste, left, picked up another load, come back – and there I STILL am – single handedly filling the aluminum bin.
While I appreciate the compassion and concern – I think it’s important we not ASSUME anything here. When I arrive at the recycling center it’s a reclamation of the garage…after 9-10 months of procrastination…
…A small victory that – no doubt – requires a small purchase on the way home…and the draining of MORE aluminum.
