Since 2014, announcer Andy Taylor has traveled to Doha to host the Qatar Tennis Federation’s ATP and WTA tournaments: The Qatar ExxonMobil Open and the Qatar TotalEnergies Open.
There, he emcees the draw ceremony, hosts the official Player’s Dinner, introduces the athletes during player walk-on, interviews the winners on-court for international broadcasters, gives-away high-end electronics to fans, and hosts the championship trophy presentations.
Originally, the Qatar ExxonMobil Open was a week-1 staple on the ATP Tour, while the QTF staged the WTA’s Qatar Total Open a few weeks following the Australian Open. Today, the tournaments are played back-to-back in February – starting with the Qatar TotalEnergies Open, then the Qatar ExxonMobil Open.
In 2022, Andy Taylor stepped-down from hosting events internationally, but resumed his work with the QTF in 2023.
