Sofia Kenin made her Arthur Ashe Stadium debut 2-years-ago. As an 18-year-old Wild Card, she won her first two Grand Slam main draw matches to earn a spot on center stage in the shadow of 2006 Champion Maria Sharapova. While she fell in two, the spotlight foreshadowed her 3rd-Round runs since.
Meanwhile, Madison Keys continues to shine at night on center court. Fueled by the rowdy Ashe atmosphere, the 2017 Finalist thundered through Kenin in the first set – then overcame her demons with a late-break in set-2. With the victory, Keys is through to her 5th consecutive Round of 16 in New York.

In 2011, as a 16-year-old Wild Card ranked outside the top-400, she won her first career Grand Slam match here at the US Open. 6-years-later – on this very court in 2017 – she reached her first Grand Slam Final. A Semifinalist last year, she returns to New York on-fire again. Just last week, she captured the biggest title of her career at the US Open Series event in Cincinnati – upseting World #4 Simona Halep en-route to the title. It was her 2nd title this year, 5th overall – and with the victory, she broke back into the WTA’s top-10.
