The 2012 US Open — He’s finally done it. Of course, the British media won’t cut him any slack until he wins the Wimbledon Championships, but Andy Murray has finally won his debut Grand Slam, defeating Novak Djokovic in an epic 5-set thriller. Not a bad way to consolidate the Gold Medal win over Roger Federer last month in the London Games.
On the ladies side, Serena Williams hoisted the US Open trophy for the fourth time, defeating Victoria Azarenka; Serena’s 15th career Grand Slam title.
