So…Day-1 of the Qatar Total Open fires up on a Sunday, meaning we’ll have to host the Player’s Party while Ekaterina Makarova and Andrea Petkovic are on court. Which sucks. In fact, with a “not before 7:00” on the schedule, Genie Bouchard and Anastasija Sevastova may miss the party, as well, if they decide to go the distance.
Anyway – here are some shots from the St. Regis Hotel during the midnight rehearsal. That stage? Not prefab. Constructed on-site by craftsmen who will, no doubt, simply take a Sawzall to the entire structure just to get it out the door. Insane.
