Federer Express Delivers Again

Are you kidding me? It took Roger Federer just 85-minutes to dispatch Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the Paris Master’s Final? This after being awakened at 4:00a by a restless daughter? The 6-1, 7-6(3) win was Roger’s second title in two-weeks, his 69th career title, and gives him all of the momentum heading into the Barclay ATP World Tour Finals starting Sunday. Roger and Andre Agassi are the only two players in history to have won at both Roland Garros and at the Paris Masters, and the career accomplishments continue to pile-up.

Not to make excuses for Tsonga, but American John Isner did keep Jo-Wilfried on the court for over 3-hours during Saturday’s marathon semifinal. With another great showing late in the season, Tsonga earned a spot in London next week, along with late entries Mardy Fish and Tomas Berdych. So the field for the Finals is set…

While most have started their seven week vacation before tuning up for the 2012 Australian Open; after the Barclay’s – there is one final order of business on the schedule: The Davis Cup Final featuring Spain vs. Argentina in Seville.

There are some in the tennis world – me included – who will enjoy some additional tennis on the schedule this year…at the 2011 Arab Games in Doha. In honor of the upcoming 24-hours of travel (for me, anyway) – here’s some video with this week’s tennis post…

Two television commercials to promote tickets sales and the spirit of competition at the 2011 Arab Games. Enjoy…
