World Series – Tennis – Joplin Makeover!

Game One of the World Series starts tonight with the wild-card St. Louis Cardinals and the Texas Rangers…if you’d like updates from the inside – check out Don Louzader, News Director of my former radio station KTTS. He is, without question, the most die-hard Cardinals fan on the face of the planet with – I kid you not – a copy of every single Cardinals game on DVD or VHS dating back to the mid-1980’s. Seriously.

Here’s Don’s World Series Dance, as captured by sister station Power 96.5 this week – Thanks for posting it Robo, and for entertaining him Fotsch and McClain…

Also this week – In the NFL, Carson Palmer’s finally back in the game after Cincinnati dealt him to the Raiders…

Sounds like the players and the NBA are finally getting serious after 16-hours of talks yesterday – they’re meeting again today. Comcast finally unloaded the 76ers to a team of buyers including Will and Jada Pinkett Smith.

In Tennis – the Kremlin Cup continues indoors in Moscow, with American Alex Bogomolov Jr playing well. His dad was the great Soviet tennis coach Alexander Bogomolov – and word is, Alex Jr is considering playing FOR Russia in Davis Cup competition. Vera Zvonareva and Dominika Cibulkova were among the winners for the ladies today, while Maria Kirilenko dropped out of Luxembourg with an ankle injury.

The guys are also playing in Stockholm, with wins from Troicki, Tomic and Dimitrov won today – while a slug fest continues as I write, with Tommy Haas and Kevin Anderson. Tommy won the first set tie-break (7-3). Tonight – James Blake made it past the first round, only to face Juan Martin del Potro.

Here are the year-end qualifiers for London…so far: Djokovic, Nadal, Murray, Federer and Ferrer…we’ll also see the doubles teams of: Bob and Mike Bryan, Daniel Nestor and Max Mirnyi, Nanad Zimonjic and Michael Llodra, Philipp Petzschner and Jurgen Melzer, and the legendary Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes.

NOW…here in the Ozarks, I’ll help host an event on Saturday in Springfield called the Justice Jewelers Diamond Dash. Hundreds of couples will be racing through the streets of Springfield, answering text clues with hopes that they’ll have the highest score in a scavenger hunt…that will score one of the couples a $10,000 Diamond Ring from Justice Jewelers. Where were these events before I got married?
